As you may have heard, some members have been Drac'd (deactivated and hacked, coined at forum.deviantart.com/community… ).
Yes, there is a cracker or script kiddy. Get ZoneAlarm now and change all of your passwords to something random. Also, www.qfxsoftware.com/download.h… (the personal one). Also, get a good anti-virus and anti-spyware. Also. comments.deviantart.com/18/154…
Also, disassociate your email. Make an email ONLY for your dA and do not relog back into it unless you need it FOR dA. This way, a keylogger has no info to work with.
The problem now, though, is that the deactivation process is flawed. Keylogger or no, if someone gets into your email, they are only a few clicks away from permanently destroying everything you have saved.
All of your art is gone.
All of your friends' list is gone.
All of your favourites, your watchers, your everything.
If you have a subscription, it's useless and can't be transferred. Same for any points you have.
You are essentially blocked from every member of dA and have no way of contacting anyone.
It is surprisingly easy to do this, because the only thing stopping someone from doing this is your email. If they get in, they reset your password. They then use the new password to deactivate, and use your already stolen email to confirm. Even faster if they got your dA pass and change the email to one they have control of.
Poof. Gone.
It's not even the owner who agreed to deactivate, so it should not be valid. No safety nets of any kind. No personal questions, and no way to recover.
Or so they say.
Everything is still there, but as I am finding out, they are refusing to give it back SO HARD to the point that they are actually deleting art. I had found a link to a piece that was still viewable, to myself and others. Checked later, it was gone.
This is ridiculous, and the way R^2 is treating it is ridiculous. Read more:

The whole feature is flawed and easily abused. This is something the staff - and especially members of dA - should know about.

So I'm an adult
Adulthood is the period that begins with you hating every dumbass thing you did as a kid, right? That would be why I've been quiet for a while. I've discovered that I'm selfish, cruel, self-serving, stupid, and did I mention self-centred? I'm not saying this to get sympathy. I'm saying this because I've been working the last year to turn all that around. I want to be less of those things. I know people who couldn't have a malicious thought in a million years even if they tried and their apparently immortal unlife was on the line, and I want to be like them. I want to be nice like them, that is. Not hypothetically immortal. That would suck. So
SO HEY BROS
I'm, like, alive and shit.

DeviantART hates artists.
1. Marx gets annoyed at a pageview bot for annoying his friends and being generally useless on an art site, spams it.
2. Marx gets banned for spam.
3. Marx waits three months, during which he realises that one mistake made once can mean he no longer has access to an entire art community, where a lot of friends are, and where he can improve his art.
4. Marx sends a professional and well-thought out appeal to the help desk, outlining his case, and being entirely honest.
5. y2jenn tells him that his actions are too severe. You know, the actions of a frustrated artist toward a pageview bot of all things. Because spamming once to a user that i
